THE 1999 CAPN MEETING IN SPOKANE, WASHINGTON (March 19-20, 1999)

A registration form may be found on p. 21 at the end of this Bulletin. Please note that the due date for the conference registration form is March 8.

LODGING

All sessions of the meeting are planned for the Ridpath Hotel in downtown Spokane (see next page for hotel details). Twenty-five rooms have been reserved for March 19. Attendees will be responsible for making their own guest room reservations. These rooms will be reserved until February 26, 1999. After that date, rooms will be available on a first-come first-served basis. Reservations must be made directly through the hotel at 509 - 838 - 6122 or FAX to 509 - 459 - 1034. The toll free reservations number is (800) 814 - 5698.

Guest room rates are $69.00 for either single or double occupancy. Rates are subject to Washington State Sales Tax and Hotel Tax and are non- commissionable.

Program Note

The sessions will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday night followed by a reception. The conference will end at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. A complete and full program will be mailed (or e-mailed) upon receipt of registration. A program will also be supplied with your registration at the hotel.

Second Call for Papers

There is space on the program for additional papers, so members are invited to submit abstracts of papers on all subjects of special interest to classicists. Abstracts of 100-150 words should be submitted as soon as possible to Sarah Keller, Department of Geography-Anthropology, MS-52, Eastern Washington University, Cheney, Washington 99004, USA. Please indicate any special equipment that you may need to present you paper. Papers should not be more than fifteen minutes in length, the abstracts of which will be published in the Fall 1999 issue of the CAPN Bulletin. Abstracts may be submitted in hardcopy, by disc (Word for Mac) or by e-mail (skeller@ewu.edu).

Room service is also available seven days a week 6:30 am to 9:00 pm.

Parking/Transportation- 453 spaces including indoor, covered secure valet parking is available at a nominal fee. Complimentary van transportation is available to and from Spokane International Airport.

Fitness Room/Pool- Our exercise facility features modern workout equipment including treadmills, stationary bikes, stairclimbers and a Universal weight apparatus. Our outdoor pool is open spring and summer for your enjoyment.
